Our Heating Services

We service, maintain and install a variety of heat sources in your home. Our main focus is on gas furnaces, electric heat strips and heat pump systems.

Maintenance

Don’t neglect your heating system! These machines need annual attention to ensure proper operation and maximum safety. We recommend getting your heating system inspected once a year for preventative maintenance. This also allows any issues to be spotted and dealt with before they cause major damage. It also finds hidden issues that could be leading to high energy bills or unsafe operation. This is done by performing the following procedure during a maintenance visit.

Electrical Components

Inspection of all electrical components and electrical boards looking for loose connections, unsafe wiring or damaged wires that could lead to a short or fires.

Blower Motor and Wheel

Inspection of the blower motor and wheel taking amp draws on the blower motor to ensure proper operation and inspection of the fan wheel condition making sure there is no buildup of dust or debris that could cause inefficient operation.

Burner Assembly

Inspection of burner assembly and amp draw of draft motor looking for any rust or obstructions that could lead to improper ignition. Also taking an amp draw of the induced draft motor to ensure proper and safe operation.

Combustion Analysis

Combustion analysis performed on every gas system and recorded. A combustion analysis tells us if there are any major safety risks with the heat exchanger and makes sure the correct amount of gas and oxygen is being burned when the furnace is running to ensure the most efficient and safe use of the system.

Filters

Filters are changed if provided and the filter system is inspected for any gaps or improper sizing that could be leading to extended runtimes or a premature amount of dust getting past the filter leading to a dirt blower wheel and potential service calls.

Vacuumed and Cleaned

The whole interior of the system is vacuumed and cleaned and the exterior is wiped down and cleaned up.

Heating Service

When it comes to service calls, us at Golden Mill want your system to last as long as possible. That’s why we encourage repair whenever it makes sense and replace the system when it’s necessary. Our main focus on service is to get the system back up and running and keep it that way for as long as possible.  Our service calls follow these basic steps that put the customer first and have an emphasis on honesty and integrity.

Exploration

First thing we do on a service call is take a detailed look at your heating system and begin troubleshooting the problem. Our goal is to find the issue and not only fix it, but fix what caused the issue. For example if you have a blower motor that died due to excessive run times, well not only fix the motor but also make suggested repairs to decrease those runtimes and ensure that your new motor has a long and healthy life. These things can include: improper blower speed setup, either its running too fast or too slow for your ductwork. Gaps in the return ductwork or filter system leading to a dirty blower wheel. Or even electrical surges causing failures on motors and boards without surge protection. We fix the whole problem!

Approval and Completion

We never make repairs and then hit you with surprise bills. Always expect a final price presentation and a thorough explanation of the issue with proof be it pictures or a demonstration of the issue. Then once we have the all clear we complete the work and keep going until the desired outcome is achieved.

5 Star experience

If there is anything we can do to achieve that 5 star experience let us know! We don’t want to leave your house anything but happy and comfortable.

Installation

Installation

Installing a new heating system in your home is a huge decision. Not only are these systems expensive but you rely on them every day to keep you comfortable and safe. That is why we try to give you as much information as possible before you make a decision to get a new system. We take many factors into account when giving estimates for new systems, these include:

Understand

Understanding the needs of the home and the design of the full HVAC system, not just swapping out what was existing. HVAC uses many different pieces that all work together and need to be considered when replacing one of those pieces.

Address

Addressing the needs of the customer. Not every customer needs all the bells and whistles when it comes to their heating system. Whether it be their budget or just their personal comfort preferences, we want to pick and install a system that makes the customer feel heard and served. We do not try to upsell and will only ever focus on meeting the expressed needs of the customers!

Install

Once a system is decided on, it gets installed according to the manufacturer and local building code specifications. Once you are completely satisfied with our work then the job is complete!
